In one of your previous posts, you seemed to have been let down. Well, that is ...quite unfortunate, I can only say.
You were upset because those people were someone you held dear who were supposed to be your friends. You trusted them but the trust was violated.
Perhaps you can look at it this way. There may be some reasons why they failed to keep their promises. 1. Perhaps they didn't want to tell you "no" because they didn't want to disappoint you. 2. Perhaps they intended to keep the promises that they made, but they just forgot them. 3. Perhaps they didn't realize that they were making promises, but the words they used made you thought that they were.
In a way, I am also quite uptight in this respect so that I may be upset when a friend can't keep a promise even for minor things such as going to see a movie or to have a meal together. I might have been criticized for that. However, to me, a promise is a promise is a promise... So we have proverbs like these:「一諾千金」、「輕諾寡信」
Anyway, so be it and let it go. If a friend can't understand you, he never really was your friend.
Gone with the wind + Down = Gone down with the wind?
ReplyDelete"飄" Gone with the wind.
"Down"
(ad.)向下,向南,在下在……下,沿著(v.)下降,放下,打倒,砍倒潦倒
玩字呀
ReplyDelete玩字 or 玩字花 but not 玩皂花.
ReplyDelete字花 was a kind of gambling popular among 師奶 and the grassroot in the old days but it was in fact also a riddle.
皂花 shouldn't be down or no one should let her down.
我都想......
ReplyDelete皂,
